How can we empower you through the planning process?

-dealing with the same person for the whole family.
-not having to go through it again telling it all to a different person.
-having a contact email at the local office to send docs etc through to directly instead of being forced to send to Ndis and not knowing if the planner has got it.
-actually reading the reports before the planning meeting
-making sure to understand the disability before the planning meeting

How you would define reasonable and necessary?

there needs to be a clear definition for the specific disabilities that makes it easier to understand.

How can the market be better designed, structured and supported?

-make all service agreements be editable for people with a disability. companies refuse to change them and they make us pay more for stupid reports or assessments in the service agreement that we don't need or want and they say they are forced to do it this way by NDIS. especially if they have gone through audit.
-make sure people are protected from dodgy providers. actually shut down people who are doing harm and are reported for fraud or sharp practice.
-people are forced to put up with low crap services as there is literally no choice. make sure people providing support work are qualified and have done training. know what is needed and understand the disabilities.

What does good service from someone helping you navigate the NDIS look like?

- support coordinators should have some training and lived experience is so important in this job.
-there needs to be more simple language of what you can spend funding on and what you cant.
-there needs to be SUGGESTED written on everyones plan as to the supports funded under the support line unless it is a stated support. people only think they can use the funding for just the written suggestions with how the plan was built which is not the case.

How should the safeguarding system be improved for a better NDIS?

- potentially if a provider is reported for anything its investigated and stopped.
