How can we empower you through the planning process?

Actually facilitate plan meetings especially for participants that require home and living supports... the last 5 plans my son has had we have not had an opportunity to be involved in a plan meeting, the NDIA keep making decisions and developing plans that are inadequate because they don't review all evidence or ask questions... maybe if we were given an opportunity to have a plan meeting before decisions are made then we wouldn't have to keep requesting internal reviews and change if circumstance reviews

What is the best way to provide supports for those not in the NDIS?

State governments need to be instructed to better fund supports in the community

How you would define reasonable and necessary?

It can't be defined when each planner, delegate, provider, therapist etc... has different versions/definitions of what it means... if no one can agree on the definition and inform participants or nominees correctly/accordingly then how are we meant to be able to define it ourselves?

What is the best way to support children with disability… and those with emerging developmental concerns?

Children should be more highly funded to support intense or more frequent therapy/supports so that they can develop skills efficiently early on so there won't be a need to highly fund therapy/supports later on... denying children adequately funded plans for therapy/supports will only mean that they will not develop skills quickly enough or at all and will result in the need for further ongoing/increased therapy/supports later on

How can the market be better designed, structured and supported?

Providers should be held more accountable for their shortfalls/failings... providers should be made to collect service efficiency data and have to complete frequent reviews of service

How should outcomes and performance be measured and shared?

Knowing exactly what the NDIA expect in regards to "evidence" when making decisions would be beneficial... we can provide 100s of pages of evidence and still be told we dont have enough or it is not specific enough, then told to provide more evidence without being told what they actually want/is required to obtain the supports/funding we are requesting

How would you build better outcomes or goals into your plan?

Give people basic templates of suggested goals that participants can tailor/alter to their individual needs

What does good service from someone helping you navigate the NDIS look like?

Planners, delegates and LACs need to be better trained and provide PERSON-CENTRED services

How should housing and living options be improved to build a good life?

Stop forcing participants to share homes when they don't want to or it is unsafe for them to live with others

Is there anything else that you would like to tell the NDIS Review?

Make planners and delegates personally accountable and responsible for not doing their job properly! Give us the platform to make specific complaints about delegates and planners that have not done their job adequately and when it has been recognised that a plan was developed incorrectly because the planner or delegate failed to do their job then all the plan to be fixed without the need to request an internal or external review... its 1 thing not to be happy with a plan because there wasn't enough evidence to support the requests, it's another to have a plan Severely underfunded and inadequate because a planner/delegate chose not to review all the supporting evidence in its entirety and adequately! When a planner doesn't do their job properly that should not be reflected onto the participant negatively nor should the participant or their nominee be put under further stress or strain because of it
